Population Change and Rural Society edited by David L. Brown and William Kandel (USDA-Economic Research Service)
This book examines the complex interrelationships between population dynamics and community social organization. Four critical socio-demographic themes shape the book: (a) the changing size and socioeconomic composition of the rural population, (b) changing rural livelihoods, (c) the effects of urban expansion on rural land use, and (d) persisting rural poverty.
