In the case of applicants whose academic records are outdated or not pertinent to the field of study, evidence of superior professional performance, normally for not less than three years, will be considered in combination with evidence bearing on intellectual and personal development, undergraduate record, test scores, special course work taken after completion of the bachelor's degree, or similar documentation.
Before admission can be completed, all applicants whose native language is not English must provide proof of competency in English. Acceptable proof includes (1) a degree from a college or university in a country where the native language is English, 2) two or more years of study in an undergraduate or graduate program in a country where the native language is English, or (3) a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) minimum score of 213 (computer-based) or 550 (paperbased). Please note that many fields require a higher minimum score. Check the Graduate School's Fields of Study web site for specific requirements.
