Become a College of Agriculture & Life Sciences Ambassador!
Who are the CALS Ambassadors and what do they do?
CALS Ambassadors are currently enrolled CALS students who participate in a variety of activities that help prospective students understand Cornell and the College from a student perspective.
What kind of time commitment is involved?
As with most aspects of Cornell, it's what students make of it. Some Ambassadors are very involved and attend all of the meetings and participate in a number of activities throughout the year, while others are more hands-off. The Admissions Office needs students who are more of the hands-on variety.
There are opportunities to attend monthly meetings during the academic year, student panels, and other large scale events such as Cornell Days, Open House, Transfer Day, and Cornell Days. There are also opportunities to participate on committees, meet with the Dean of the College, and work with alumni.
Who is qualified to apply?
Any CALS student is able to apply. We strongly encourage freshman, sophomores, and new transfer students to apply to become CALS Ambassadors.
When does the application process begin?
CALS Ambassadors only select new members at the start of the spring semester. All CALS students will be sent an e-mail with more information at the start of the spring semester.
What does the application process entail?
Interested students need to complete an application and a short interview.
