Take the following steps to apply for first-year admissions
You have two options when you apply. You can use a paper copy (pdf) of the Common Application or the on-line version of the Common Application. Keep in mind that there is a supplement specific to Cornell University that must be submitted with your application.
Early Decision
If Cornell is your first choice and you're applying for freshman admission, consider applying under the early-decision plan. Remember that an early-decision application is a commitment. You can apply under early decision to only one college or university. If you're accepted at Cornell, you must withdraw any applications sent to other schools and send your acceptance deposit by the date specified in your acceptance letter. About a third of our entering class is admitted early decision.
Regular Decision
Students considering a number of colleges will apply under the regular decision program. Students admitted by regular decision have until May 1st to accept our offer of admission.
Early Admission
If you think you're ready for college after three years of high school, exhausted the course offerings of your school, and demonstrate a level of maturity that makes early college entrance appropriate, your application will be given serious consideration. Please contact us directly for permission to apply.
Choose a major
We ask that you apply to only one of our academic programs (a.k.a. majors). We encourage you to learn as much about your intended major as possible.

Other important information
Interviews
Interviews are not conducted and are therefore not used in the evaluation of applicants in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. To learn more about the college we encourage you to visit campus and attend an information session. The session provides an overview of the college and allows ample time to ask any questions.
Advanced placement
Students may use credit they receive for advanced placement to satisfy degree requirements only as specified by the individual college at Cornell. Cornell University publishes an informational bulletin on advanced placement and international credentials available on the Undergraduate Admissions website. Cornell University does not accept credit for courses sponsored by colleges, but taught in high schools to high school students, even if the college provides a transcript of such work. Students who have taken such courses are encouraged to take the appropriate Advanced Placement examination offered by the College Board.
