Welcome
Greetings and welcome to the Department of Plant Pathology and Microbe-Biology!
Our department has been an active center of investigation for more than a century with a wonderful legacy of scholarship in research and education about pathogenesis, plant-associated microbes, and sustainable methods to suppress plant disease. We have a rich history of developing leaders in plant biology throughout the world, and our alumni remain close friends with each other and department faculty members.
We teach a range of undergraduate and graduate courses that deal with the biology and management of infectious diseases, and the pathogens that cause disease. While we devote most effort to plant disease, our basic investigations deal with questions common to host-pathogen interactions across many taxonomy. Our faculty members work in Geneva, Ithaca, the Hudson Valley, and on Long Island.
We designed this web site as a helpful gateway to information about our faculty members, students and staff; the range of courses that we teach; and information for growers about plant disease, including how to submit a plant sample for diagnosis.
