Reappointment of Assistant Professors
Recommendations by the department for reappointment in situations where a faculty member's performance is evaluated as highly satisfactory should be received by the Senior Associate Dean three months prior to reappointment.
Promotion to Associate Professor/Professor
Faculty promotions are initiated within individual departments and submitted to the Senior Associate Dean’S Office for consideration.
Four sets of promotion materials are requested for submission to the Senior Associate Dean to set the process in motion. Upon receipt of materials, an ad hoc committee is formed to review the promotion request. When a decision has been received from the ad hoc committee by the Senior Associate Dean, the promotion materials are prepared for submission to Day Hall for University approval and approval by the Board of Trustees. A timeline identifying the various steps in the process is included below.
An appeals process is also available at any stage in the promotion process for promotion to Associate Professor and promotion to full Professor.
