The Department of Education offers a set of programs that address formal and non-formal educational issues from national and international perspectives. Our faculty and students emphasize the functional relationship between knowledge generation, theory development, and effective practice. Departmental research applies qualitative and quantitative methods and approaches to a variety of educational issues in classrooms, schools, and community settings. Philosophically, we examine epistemological frameworks, reflecting on and questioning them, and seeking new ways to address important concerns and theories of educational practice.
We offer both undergraduate and graduate degree programs and a wide array of courses. At the undergraduate level, we offer an Agricultural Science major and an Education Minor. At the Graduate level, we offer masters and doctoral study in two programmatic areas: Learning, Teaching, and Social Policy (LTSP) and Adult and Extension Education (AEE).
