Here are some of our most common asked questions by families and friends of Cornell students:
My employer and insurance companies require proof of my student’s full time status for insurance coverage. Where do I receive this verification letter?
Verification of Full time status should be requested through the University Registrar’s office by calling (607) 255-4232, or a certification can be ordered on line at http://certification.cornell.edu
My automobile insurance company offers a discount for college students “in good standing” – where should I request a letter to verify my student has met these qualifications for a discount?
Verification of a student in good standing can be obtained through the CALS Registrar’s Office at 140 Roberts Hall.
Does Cornell University mail grade reports to parents?
Grades are no longer mailed. Student can review their grades on Student Center at the end of the grading periods for each semester.
If my child has missed a class or has to be out of town because of illness, family emergency, or other family matter, who do we notify?
You can notify the CALS Counseling and Advising Office (254 - 5386), the CALS Registrar’s Office, or the CALS Multicultural and Diversity Programs Office. All three offices will work closely together to support you and to notify the instructors and advisor.
