Job Description
The University of Georgia 4-H / Youth
Department is seeking a full time Public Service Faculty Member to serve the
Department of the Air Force with strategic and administrative projects to
support Air Force Services and Family Member Programs. The candidate would additionally serve a role
statewide to provide strategic oversight of the
General Nature:
-
Administer and
manage a variety of Air Force Projects as assigned including the Key Spouse
Program Project, the Caring for People Program Project and the Program for
Exceptional Family Members
-
Develop
innovative communications tools to market the projects at installations
including but not limited to electronic newsletters with research based
articles and information
-
Communicate with
State 4-H faculty and staff, County 4-H faculty and staff and state partnering
organizations on programs delivered through Extension / Military Projects

Coordinate
programs for military audiences
-
Connect the
resources of the Land-Grant Universities to Military Service Members, their
Families and military organizations
Specific Responsibilities:
Regular Duties:
o
Compile and
maintain collection of resource materials and program information relating to
and supporting military youth and families
o
Supervise military
programs staff including, OMK Coordinator and/or student assistants
Periodic Duties:
o
Perform office
management and other duties as required.
Occasional Duties:

Job Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Masters degree in education, youth development, agricultural extension, business, public administration or related field is required and related experience which demonstrates knowledge of administrative methods and subject area is required. Broad experience with military organizations and Cooperative Extension is required. Good interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks; demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with other professionals and organizations; and good oral and written communication skills. Must have vehicle with proof of insurability and valid driver’s license for work-related travel (mileage for work-related travel is reimbursed) and must be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends. Computer and use of technology skills may be required as applicable to this project.
