to develop strong working relationships with alumni, private companies, and
state organizations that support the Environmental Horticulture Program and
often hire its graduates.The University
of Maine has a number of on- and off-campus facilities that are available for
Landscape Design teaching and research including greenhouse facilities,
research farms, and the 7 ha Lyle E. Littlefield Ornamental Trial Garden and
Research Center which includes over 2500 different woody and herbaceous plant
species/varieties and is the most northern trial garden in the Eastern
U.S.
Job Qualifications
This position requires an MLA in
Landscape Architecture, MS in Horticulture, or PhD in Horticulture with an
emphasis in Landscape Design.We seek a
candidate with professional experience, a strong background inlandscape design and the use of modern
computer-assisted design technology, excellent teaching skills, excellent
written and verbal communications skills, and the ability and desire to work
closely with students, faculty, alumni and industry professionals.
