INFORMATION SPECIALIST
Exempt Staff, Full-Time Contingent II
Location:
Food Safety Research Information Office (http://fsrio.nal.usda.gov), National Agricultural Library, 10301 Baltimore Avenue, Room 304, Beltsville, MD 20705.
Position Summary:
The Food Safety Information Center (FSIC) is recruiting for an Information Specialist. The individual will perform the following duties: writing technical Food Safety Fact Sheets for the Food Safety Research Information Office (FSRIO) website (http://fsrio.nal.usda.gov); providing reference services, and providing general program support.
Responsibilities:
- Writing technical Safety Fact Sheets for the FSRIO Web site.
- Providing reference services.
- Providing general program support as needed.

Job Qualifications
Qualifications:
Required –
- Bachelor’s Degree in food science, food technology or other food safety related field.
- Writing online technical publications for the Web.
Preferred –
- Background in food safety, food science, or food technology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail oriented, organized, and reliable.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Masters Degree in Food Science.
- Food safety related research experience.
