Description of Organization: Through the Farm Loan Program, the USDA's Farm Service Agency makes direct and guaranteed farm ownership (FO) and operating loans (OL) to family-size farmers and ranchers who cannot obtain commercial credit from a bank , Farm Credit System Institution, or other lender.
Description of Duties: This position is assigned to the Farm Loan Team, located in Canandaiga, Ontario County, NY. The selectee performs a wide range of duties related to loan processing, loan servicing, and office management. This position does not require the skills of a qualified typist to perform word processing and other office automation duties.

Preferred Majors: Applied Economics and Management, Animal Science, Agriculture Sciences
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: For the GS-5 level, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 level in the Federal service. For the GS-6 level, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 level in the Federal service. For the GS-7 level, you must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level in the Federal service. Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR THE GS-5 LEVEL: Experience applying office methods and procedures to provide clerical and limited technical support to any program.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR THE GS-6 LEVEL: Experience applying office methods and procedures to provide clerical and limited technical support to process and service loans or agricultural programs.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR THE GS-7 LEVEL: Experience applying office methods and procedures to provide clerical and limited technical support to independently perform a full range of farm loan program processes.
EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
FOR THE GS-5 LEVEL: Successful completion of four years of education above high school in an accredited business, secretarial or technical, junior college, college or university in any field in which high school graduation or the equivalent is a prerequisite may be substituted for specialized experience.
FOR THE GS-6 AND GS-7 LEVELS: Successful completion of a master's or higher level graduate degree with a major in finance, business administration, economics, accounting, engineering, mathematics, banking and credit, law, statistics, or another field related to the position such as agriculture, agricultural economics, agricultural marketing, farm, livestock or ranch management, dairy science, domestic agricultural development, agronomy, rural sociology or other agricultural specialty area.
Must be US Citizen, required to pass to background investigation and fingerprint check
