Job Description
Responsibilities:
· Develop, implement, and evaluate an informal educational program in 4-H youth development based on the Maryland 4-H Youth Development model, focusing in the areas of animal/agricultural science, natural resources and the mechanical sciences.
· Take advantage of educational opportunities in youth development and assigned subject areas to maintain an accurate updated base of knowledge in these matters.
· Maintain awareness of changes in trends and technology in assigned subject areas to better service clientele.
· Create opportunities for youth to demonstrate and evaluate their project knowledge in these areas and recognize youth for their accomplishments and achievements.
· Cooperate with county 4-H Extension faculty in providing leadership in the development of educational environmental stewardship programs for youth delivered through the county 4-H residential camping program.
· Work cooperatively with other county Extension faculty, EAC, 4-H members and volunteers to identify the educational needs of the county’s diverse clientele.
· Assist in the development and training of MCE volunteers to support 4-H activities and events.
· As appropriate, work across the region and state to provide a total Maryland Cooperative Extension program.
· Perform other duties to fulfill county needs as assigned based on the 4-H Mission, 4-H Strategic Plan, MCE Building a Stronger MD, and County 4-H Plan of Action in order to perform a contemporary, proactive, and evolving 4-H Youth Development Program in the County.

Salary & Benefits:

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Personal transportation and valid driver’s license.
- Must be willing to travel within the assigned county and state.
- When offered employment by MCE, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a clear background check by the State of Maryland and FBI.
