Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION: Oversee Quality Assurance and Environmental Compliance Programs for Company wide operations to ensure compliance with all Federal and State agencies. Actively embrace and participate in the Every Day Focus culture and management style.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Develop procedures, standards and guidelines for each QA & Environmental departments and their members to follow.
2. Put together short and long term plans for QA & Environmental departments in order to establish consistent practices with each group.
3. Work with outside vendors to develop the knowledge within the company and managing the time and money spent on these outside consultants.
4. Develop and monitor Departmental Budgets for the Environmental and Quality Assurance areas.
5. Evaluate, mentor and supervise departmental managers and supervisors.
6. Represent the Company in regular and frequent contacts with representatives of the regulatory agencies such as EPA, FDA and ADEC and industries technical groups such as USDC and obtain and maintain permits from these agencies.
7. Make recommendations to improve production efficiency and minimize product losses and labor costs.
8. Travel to customer sites to work with them to get an understanding of their requirement for quality as it relates to their products.
9. Position may require travel to Alaska on short notice for one to several weeks at a time.

Job Qualifications
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Four year Bachelor's degree with course emphasis related to technology.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of six to nine years experience in food quality control and environmental programs.
ANALYSIS
& CREATIVITY:
Essentially creative work in specialized field, involving theoretical and experimental responsibility for technical decisions in a basic discipline of knowledge.
ORGANIZING:
Regular requirement for planning complete projects and programs, done on a long range basis with major effect on the corporation.
CONTACTS:
Frequent inside and outside contacts of non-routine nature, requiring highly developed tact or persuasion to secure desired action.
WORKING
CONDITIONS:
Usual office working conditions.
SUPERVISION:
Supervise 4 to 7 employees who perform specialized technical work in a highly complex area.
