We are seeking a Research Scientist to join our Research and Development team in Denver, CO. The Research Scientist functions within the Strategic Research Group (SRG) whose focus is applied research that aims to closely link the results of R&D efforts with the company’s operations, putting attention on major projects. The group’s scientists are charged with the development and commercialization of strategically important new products and processes. A successful scientists in this position will be able to apply basic research results to create new and useful products and processes, which many times requires bringing together people from accounting, sales, production, and other R&D areas.
Job Qualifications
Requirements for the Research Scientist position include at a minimum a M.S. Degree in Food Science, Dairy or Cheese Chemistry along with 3 years of experience, in Food Science, Food Chemistry, Food Engineering, or Dairy Chemistry; PC skills in Microsoft Office Products. Successful candidates will possess experience in a lab setting with developing, testing and evaluating dairy and cheese products. They will have a natural instinct and desire for seeking and gaining knowledge, work well with others, strong interpersonal communication skills, have a proven record of initiating, planning, and managing multiple projects involving cheese manufacturing and/or dairy chemistry with minimal supervision, possess the creativity and diversity in their research approach to enable successful completion of company objectives, and have knowledge of cheese and dairy chemistry, have a proven success in identifying and solving product quality-related concerns, and ability to understand/interpret analytical and production data. Candidates should be able to demonstrate superior organization and communication skills, as well as be dedicated to the advancement of science and technology in the area of dairy food production,and food chemistry. Light travel should be expected.
