Job Description
This position would be responsible to coordinate and implement education programs at the Master Peace Community Farm at the Center for Educational Partnership in Riverdale, Maryland. The education programs include both youth education with public school students and educational programs with community gardeners and their families. The candidate will have a strong understanding of gardening and food production, community organizing, and youth education.
Job Qualifications
Required -
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ability to learn and teach basic nutrition information and physical activity lessons to youth.
- Ability to effectively communicate with youth.
- Ability to lift and transport supplies and equipment.
- Must work well in a team environment and have a flexible schedule during the afternoons most days of the week.
- Must have an automobile, valid driver's license, and be willing to travel within the county.
- When offered employment by MCE, the successful candidate will be required to obtain a clear background check by the State of Maryland and FBI.
Preferred -
- Education: preferred BA/BS.
- Skills in performing basic arithmetic calculations.
- Able to analyze data from pre and post-assessments.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership and management skills, with evidence of being able to work well in a team environment and also independently. Should also be able to work well with a variety of groups such as community leaders, families, and youth.
