Job Description
Responsibilities:
- The qualified applicant will focus his/her research on identification of genes essential for plant abiotic stress tolerance through forward genetic analysis primarily in the model plant Arabidopsis.
- This research will be conducted in a laboratory with a strong research program aimed at determining the molecular mechanisms by which plants cope with adverse environments, including temperature extremes, drought, and/or salinity. A large collection of mutants defective in cold, drought and/or salt tolerance is available for use in this project.
Job Qualifications
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. in biology or related discipline and have an interest in plant biology.
Salary
Commensurate with experience. Grant funded, 12 month appointment that can be renewed depending on funding availability. The University offers an extensive benefits package.
