Job Description
Education Management Corporation (EDMC) is accepting candidates for our VP, Labor & Employee Relations opening. The position is responsible for ensuring that EDMC policies, procedures, and training efforts support a positive work environment that is free from harassment and discrimination; in compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; auditing compliance with employee relations policy and practices; partnering with external counsel in managing contract negotiations where applicable; serves as the Chief Ethics Officer; ensures corporate-wide compliance with training to faculty, managers, and employees on a range of employment law topics; monitors HR policy compliance and supports the ongoing revision and development of EDMC HR policies.

Job Qualifications
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Industrial/Labor Relations, coupled with a Master’s degree in same; Juris Doctor strongly preferred; and10-12 years experience in labor and employee relations. Experience in a post secondary education environment or other field with large employee base and strong external customer service requirements preferred. The ideal candidate will have the ability to interact effectively as a leader and as a member of a team that works collaboratively with other departments.
