Job Description
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the overall supervision of the Senior Officer, Forest Communication Team, and the direct supervision of a more senior Forestry Officer, the incumbent will:
- Assist officers in Forestry Department units and in Decentralized Offices with developing and improving the content of web sites. Liaise with Web site originators to update outdated material and to improve content and presentation. Develop and modify web pages.
- Assist with site management including arranging for translation.
- Review, edit and improve Web page texts for correctness and readability. In particular, maintain updated country pages. Monitor and improve links with web sites maintained by FAO member countries and with FAO Decentralized Offices.
- Identify and participate in writing or editing web stories related to Forestry.
- Participate in the preparation, editing, producing and/or distribution of FAO information products related to Forestry.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Candidates should meet the following:
- Advanced University Degree related to Forestry, Information Management or a related field.
- Three years of relevant experience at the P-2 level (one year of professional experience at the P-1 level) related to information management and documentation.
- Working knowledge of English, French or Spanish and limited knowledge of one of the other two.
Salary
US 62,394/78,373 to 75,941/96,354 (without dependants) and from US 66,144/83,555 to 80,874/103,261 (with dependants)
