To study abroad for academic credit during the fall, spring, or full academic year, CALS students must go through a CALS exchange, Cornell Abroad, a Cornell-sponsored study tour, or Cornell in Rome. Opportunities for studying abroad include:
STEP ONE:
CALS Study Abroad 101 sessions are held every Wednesday from 3:30-4:00pm and Thursday from 1:00-1:30pm (during the academic year) in 170 Roberts Hall. These meetings cover factors to consider when selecting a program, the study abroad application and approval process, and other important information. All students are required to attend one of these information sessions before applying for a program or meeting with the study abroad and exchange advisor to discuss personal study abroad opportunities. No appointment is necessary for the 101 session. You only need to attend once to get all of the information you need to get started in finding the right program for you.
STEP TWO:
Advising sessions: Once you have attended CALS Study Abroad 101, you may meet with the CALS Study Abroad and Exchange Advisor. Call 607-254-5386 to make an appointment. Verification that you have attended the 101 session will be made. If you met with the advisor in fall 2008 you will be exempt from the 101 requirement.
