Sensitive Data
With the 2006 New York State Breach Disclosure Law in efftect, Cornell is making a serious effort to locate and properly manage data defined by the law as sensitive (social security numbers, credit card numbers, bank account information, and drivers/non-drivers license numbers.)  Click the "Sensitive Data" link on the left column for more information about this very important topic.

Cornell IT Security Policy
The Security of Information Technology Resources policy outlines the responsibilities of users, IT, and security specialists with regard to security on computer systems.

Security Incidents
Serious security incidents where there has been unauthorized access to data must be reported to CIT.  If you have sensitive data on your system and you suspect that your system has a virus or other security issue, do not run an antivirus scan or use Spider!

• Contact your IT support staff to report a security incident or to discuss other matters of IT security.
  
• Contact Dan Elswit, the CALS IT Security Officer directly if you do not have local IT support or if you would like to request security awareness training, a security assessment of an area, or would like additional consultation of any kind regarding security matters.
