e-Clips Cornellians Connect to the Real World Through Video!
Students today live in a media-rich world and are deeply interested in how the "real world" fits with what they learn in the classroom. To address that interest, Professor Deborah Streeter and her team built Cornell eClips, which puts nearly 13,000 short videos at the fingertips of faculty and students who can hear various experts talking about issues related to entrepreneurship, business and leadership. The display will highlight the eClips collection, as well as a spinoff site, the TenGoodMinutes podcast, focused on career issues. In addition, come and see the ways that Cornell is commercializing the eClips collection through Prendismo.com, a way CALS is Making a World of Difference for aspiring entrepreneurs across the globe.

Student Research: Patterns of Foliar Uptake in Seven Northeastern Temperate Forest Tree Species.
The effects of increased anthropogenic-induced atmospheric nitrogen deposition on woodland ecosystems are still uncertain. The responses of many tree species to increased nitrogen exposure are even less known. This study looks at how foliar nitrogen content varies among American beech, eastern hemlock, basswood, quaking aspen, red maple, sugar maple, and white ash trees to help understand such response behavior. Leaf samples were taken from trees located in a plot used by a large, long-term temperate forest heavy nitrogen (15N) tracer experiment in the Arnot Teaching and Research Forest located in Van Etten, New York. Associations between nitrogen content and parameters including species type, tree size, tree growth rate, and type of mycorrhizal association were analyzed. Although significant differences in nitrogen content exist, no overall convincing patterns that can explain such differences were observed.
