CALS and Celebrate Cornell Faculty
Cornell's outstanding faculty change students' lives. Cornellians will tell you that the same faculty who shaped their experiences on campus continue to influence them personally and professionally.
A forthcoming wave of retirements will place new pressure on Cornell to attract and retain the very best teachers, researchers, and scholars. To meet this challenge, the university seeks to raise $200 million in endowment funds through Celebrate Cornell Faculty.
This effort will support Cornell and Cornell faculty by:
- increasing the number of endowed faculty positions while also generating financial resources to supplement existing faculty compensation
- creating supplementary funds for faculty research, summer support, travel funds, and fellowships for graduate student assistants
Competitive salaries and a permanent source of funding to support faculty research make it possible to reward current faculty and compete for the outstanding new talent essential to sustain Cornell as a top-ranked world university.
Best of all, the site includes an interactive forum where you can share your faculty recollections with the rest of the Cornell community and read the comments of other CALS alumni.
Since its launch last summer, the Celebrate Cornell Faculty website has conveyed the strength of the faculty/alumni bond that touches all Cornellians. Students, staff, faculty, and alumni have found the site to be a wonderful source of inspiration.
