Cornell's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) is hosting “Cornell
Celebrates New York Wines” a gala wine auction on Thursday,
April 2, 2008, at the Lighthouse on Pier 61, Chelsea Piers, New York,
NY. This event seeks to raise critical funding for Cornell’s
enology and viticulture programs, as well as raise awareness for
the New York wine industry with Cornell alumni and wine lovers in
the greater New York metropolitan area. Last year, the event attracted
more than 200 guests for an evening filled with fine food and wine,
as well as an auction with one-of-a-kind items.
The New York wine industry is growing at a phenomenal pace. The
College of Agriculture and Life Sciences — with its unique
capabilities in research, teaching and extension— has been
working to anticipate the needs of this industry for over 30 years.
With support, these programs can continue to grow, and ensure a vibrant
wine and grape industry.
Please consider becoming a sponsor for this year's event. In addition
to visibility and recognition at the event, the funds collected in
excess of event costs will go to support the enology and viticulture
program at Cornell.
